I’m a big fan of breakfast. It has the power to make or break the rest of your day. Generally, it has to be something different from other meals. I don’t understand the bread, cheese and cold cuts of continental Europe, that’s lunch! I wasn’t impressed in China when I went down for breakfast in a hotel to be presented with rice. Neither was I pleased in India when a hotel provided chips for breakfast. (Not sure what they were thinking?!) But less of the bad and more of the good. Here are my favourite breakfasts from around the world.
Do you have an urge to explore the world but never seem to travel further than your commute to work?
Do those mid-week dreams of golden beaches disappear as soon as you look at your bank balance?
Make 2014 the year you make it happen. It really isn’t that difficult!
It’s Movember, which means many guys will be growing a moustache to raise money and/or awareness for men’s health. As I am unable to grow a moustache, (as I’m a girl, not because I’m a pre-pubescent boy!), I am following Leah at Leah Travels lead by creating a manly bucket list.
Run with the bulls in Pamplona
Women have only been allowed to participate in this centuries old Spanish tradition since 1974. Bulls are released into the streets of the town of Pamplona and are preceded by runners whose main aim is to not get gored, which unfortunately does happen every year. Everyone races their way to the bullring ready for the evening’s entertainment of a bullfight. I fancy getting kitted out in the classic white outfit with red handkerchief around the neck and asking San Fermín to bless me.
In case you hadn’t heard GowithOh allow you to book holiday apartments right across Europe, in 17 different cities to be exact. They’re looking for a Guest Tester, somebody to stay in an apartment and share their experience on their blog. And, hopefully, that’s where I come in. I would love to road test an apartment and discover the delights of a city. Having an apartment would be almost like living there, just for a week or so, but still I could pretend after a day exploring the canals of Venice or drinking Guiness in Dublin that I was going back to my own little pad in the city.
My name is Emma, I’m a 20-something English girl currently living in South Wales. I have been incredibly lucky and have had the opportunity to travel all over the world. I have often taken inspiration for my journey from travel bloggers, trying out a food or visiting a site that had been recommended by somebody who had actually been there and done that. Don’t get me wrong, I think guide books can be useful, but so often the information is already out of date by the time it gets published, or just omits key facts (ie there are no cash machines on Isla Isabela in the Galapagos – yep got caught out BIG style on that one!) so they’re better used in conjunction with local advice and a few travel blogs. That’s why I want to share a few tips and suggestions on the places I know and love, in the hope that I can help in making travelling a bit more simple and allowing other travellers to enjoy their adventure that bit more.
